Wylee Ancel Nelson

Wylee Ancel Nelson was born on May 19, 1997, to Wade and Tawn (Tibbs) Nelson.

From the very beginning, Wylee was known for being hard-headed and stubborn. He always wanted the last word, even if it mumbled under his breath. Yet beneath that stubborn exterior was a heart that cared deeply for the people he loved. 

Growing up, when Wade went out the door, Wylee was right behind him, eager to be wherever his dad was. Wylee and his big sister, Tearnee, spent countless hours at LeeAnn's house playing whatever sport was in season. He also loved attending rodeos with his parents and siblings, where he always had a rope in his hands. His love for roping started early, and at just three years old, he won his first dummy roping competition.

As he got older, Wylee attended school in Faith, where he played football and participated in rodeo. Through both activities, he built many lifelong friendships that he treasured throughout his life. He worked whenever he could and spent as much of his free time as possible with friends. Whether on the football field, in the rodeo arena, or hanging out with those closest to him, Wylee had a way of making lasting connections with everyone around him.

After graduating from Faith High School in 2015, Wylee attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. Much of his time there was spent alongside Tearnee, who was not only his first built-in best friend, but also his roommate, traveling buddy, and roping partner. During his years in Alva, Wylee formed many more lifelong friendships and created memories that would stay with him forever.

In 2016, while attending college, Wylee reconnected with Jaclyn through mutual friends. Through life's ups and downs, periods of distance, and many trips between South Dakota and Oklahoma, they continued finding their way back to one another. What began as a young relationship grew over time into a deep and lasting love, built on perseverance, friendship, and a commitment to weather every season of life together. After three and a half years in Alva, Wylee decided it was time to return home to Faith, bringing his "little buddy," Bex, with him.

Once back home, Wylee's determination and work ethic led him toward a career in trucking. When he decided to earn his CDL, he studied harder for that test than any he had ever taken before – even recruiting his little sister, Tandee, to help quiz him. In 2019, Wylee established Nelson Trucking. Shortly thereafter, the company evolved into a partnership between Wylee and Wade, while Tawn took on additional responsibilities to help ensure its success. His commitment to building a business he could be proud of was evident in the countless hours spent on three-way phone calls, sharing ideas, seeking advice, developing strategies, and working together to build his dream.

During this time, Wylee also grew especially close to his little brother, Waycee. Although he loved picking on him, the bond between them only grew stronger with time. They spent countless hours together listening to music, competing against each other, golfing, and simply enjoying each other's company.

As the years passed, Wylee and Jaclyn continued to create memories with each other. In August of 2023, they decided to settle down and continue building the life together they desired. They purchased a house and moved it onto his parents' place. Wylee took great pride in many things, especially his truck and his yard. Though Wylee had always been known for his stubbornness, he met his match in Jaclyn. Together they took numerous trips with family and created many cherished memories. Of all those adventures, Jaclyn's favorite would always be their trip to Hawaii, where Wylee finally proposed. They were married on September 6, 2025.

Married life was filled with many of the things Wylee loved most—golfing, traveling, spending time with family, and making memories with friends. He treasured any opportunity to spend time with his uncles and cousins and never turned down a game of cards. Whether it was cribbage or poker around town or pinochle with family, Wylee enjoyed both the competition and the company. He also had a special soft spot for his nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy.

One of Wylee's greatest gifts was his ability to make others laugh. He could bring light to nearly any situation and had a way of making even ordinary moments more enjoyable. As an adult, he always seemed happy and rarely appeared to have a bad day. If someone needed help, Wylee would have given them the shirt off his back. He never hesitated to put his own plans aside to help a friend, family member, or neighbor.

Wylee was always on the move. From the time he first hit the ground running as a little boy until the day the Lord called him home, he lived life with purpose, determination, and a love for the people around him. On July 15, 2026, Wylee passed away in a tragic accident while doing what he loved.

Wylee is survived by his wife, Jaclyn; daughter, Hayzen Jo; parents, Wade and Tawn Nelson; siblings, Tearnee Nelson (Jd Anderson), Waycee Nelson, and Tandee Nelson; grandparents, Glenn and Sandy Nelson and Lory Tibbs; parents-in-law, Marty and Heather Niederwerder; sisters-in-laws, Paige (Lane) Meinen and Lexxy (Dylan) Phillips; nephews, Ryker, Ridley, Dustin, Beau, and Dax; nieces, McKinley, Gabby, and Rory; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Wylee was preceded in death by his grandpa, Wayne "Fio" Tibbs, and his grandfather-in-law, Gerald Niederwerder.
