Micki Haines, age 73, died October 4, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
Marian (Micki) Stambach was born August 16, 1947 to Harry & Marian (Sever) Stambach in Dupree, SD. She grew up and went to school in Lantry & Dupree, graduating in 1965 as Valedictorian from Dupree High School. After high school she worked for the Social Services Department in Dupree until August of 1970 when she married her husband Glen Haines and moved to Faith.
She and Glen built their lives in Faith where they raised their 3 children. Micki babysat for many years until she pursued a banking career at Farmers State Bank beginning in 1986 until she retired in August of 2013. In those 27 years she made many friends and loved the work she did. She also supported Glen & Justin with their trucking business being the bookkeeper.
Throughout her life she was active in the Faith Community.  She was a member of the Jaycees, Meet & Treat, Faith Stock Show Association, Faith Education Foundation, Red Hat Club and most recently Prairie Strippers. She was a devout member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She taught many church school classes and cooked many meals with her “church basement ladies”.
Micki was a woman of many talents.  She could build, sew, and craft anything & everything.  The last few years her passion was making quilts. She made sure each of her children & grandchildren received a quilt made with lots of love from her. With every quilt she made Micki always said, “They may not be perfect, but they are made with lots of love.”
Micki and Glen also enjoyed antiquing, traveling, and camping with family & friends. Her last camping trip was over Labor Day weekend with her lifelong friends John D & Judy Lemke.
Grateful for sharing her life is her husband of 50 years Glen Haines of Faith SD, son Justin (Shara) Haines of Faith SD, daughters Alanna (Scott) Pederson of Rapid City SD, Kristi (Brian) Medrud of Faith SD; eight grandchildren, Tanner, Lenae (Rio Hulm), Allison, Morgan, Tallyn, Mason, Tayvin, & Matthew. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild, a girl, Baby H, arriving in November. Also grateful for sharing her life is her lifelong best friend Judy Lemke of Lantry SD.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Gail Stambach, brother-in-law Lawrence E Woodward, brother & sister-in-law Wayne & Linda Haines and David & Tami Haines, sister-in-law Mary Lou Haines, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Marian Stambach; brother, Fred Stambach; sisters, Marlene Woodward & Darlene Marple, brother-in laws Bill Marple & Alan Haines, mother & father-in-law Willard & Hazel Haines.
Memorials have been established to the Faith United Methodist Church and the Faith Area Community Foundation (FACF).
