Lyle Feddersen

A golden heart stopped beating on October 25, 2021 at his home in Mount Vernon, S.D., surrounded by his loved ones. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.

Lyle Gene Feddersen was born in Murdo, S.D. on August 24, 1950 to Adolph and Henrietta (Harriet) Jonkers Feddersen. Like most families, it was large and they all worked on the family farm.

Lyle worked on The Eldon Magnuson farm growing up. With a smile and tear in his eye, he had very fond memories with the whole Magnuson family.

Lyle was drafted in the airborne division in 1971 and served in the Vietnam War in Germany.

After returning home, he started his truck driving career with Feiners out of Ethan, S.D. Trucking was something that really grew on him and he prided himself in being a very loyal employee over the years. His dedication pushed that odometer to over eight million miles.

He worked part-time at CHR Solutions in the Bill Print department and he also helped with Travis and Carmen’s cleaning business. Lyle was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need!

He was united in marriage to Kristine Hammond on November 27, 1978, and with their union the family grew with children Carmen, Scott and Tyler.

Lyle loved life, family and friends. He’d always have a couple of jokes to share and would do anything to make you smile. He loved fishing, the dogs, horses, playing cards and games. Monopoly games got heated many times with his grandkids.

Lyle was a huge sports fan, especially if it involved his family. He loved our Venom softball family. He always saw the best in everyone and would share a joke or one of his many stories to complete strangers just to make them smile.

Grateful for sharing his life are Kris Feddersen of Mitchell, Carmen (Travis) Walz of Mount Vernon, Scott Feddersen of Mitchell, Tyler Feddersen of Mount Vernon; Six grandchildren Taylor (John), Camie (Trevor), Hailey, Addison, Jordyn, Izaiah. Three great-grandchildren Tana, Raiden and Jaxson; Brothers Johnny, Melvin (Butch) (Lana), Marvin (Val), Milton (Shorty) (Judy), all of Murdo, S.D. and many special nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother Roland Feddersen, brother Allen Feddersen, sister-in-law Maxine Feddersen, sister Yvonne Byrd, and nephew Brian Feddersen.
