Lorene Ann Walker was born to Warren and Deloris Walker on July 10, 1950, in Midland, SD. Lorene was the third child with 2 older sisters and soon to follow 6 younger brothers. The family lived a very modest life in the Philip, SD area. Lorene fondly recalled stories of helping to raise her younger brothers, breaking horses for area ranchers, walking to school-uphill, both ways, in the winter, and the annual 4th of July celebrations in Pukwana for the turkey races.
She graduated from Philip High School in 1968 and married Calvin Triebwasser shortly thereafter. The couple made their home in Parkston, SD where their two daughters Kari and Kalcy were born. The couple divorced after 10 years of marriage. Lorene and the girls moved to Mitchell, SD where Lorene attended Dakota Wesleyan University. She worked tirelessly to provide for her daughters while she completed her schooling. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business and graduated Magna Cum Laude. LT&Gs then moved to Wyoming living in Gillette and Casper while the girls completed school. Once her daughters moved back to South Dakota, Lorene was quick to follow.
