Kenneth Harvey Sheaffer, Jr.

Kenneth Harvey Sheaffer, Jr. (to many known as Ken, Kenny and “Uncle”) was born May 6, 1967 to Kenneth Sheaffer, Sr. and Karen (Varner) Myers in Carlisle, PA.
Ken spent his childhood in Carlisle and most of that time was on the farm as his pap’s right hand man and sidekick.
After attending Big Spring High School, Ken served in the Army Reserves. Ken then became an OTR truck driver, a job he thoroughly loved and enjoyed as it rewarded him to travel and see the country. He then settled in Interior, SD where he was Maintenance Supervisor at Cedar Pass Lodge and later worked maintenance at the Badlands Interior Campground.
Ken was the loving father to Drew S. Sheaffer and very proud grandfather to Karliegh and Olivia Sheaffer. He and Drew had an incredible bond and shared a love of trucking.
Another title that Ken wore proudly was being called “Uncle” by many family, friends, and neighbors. He was a natural, quick witted comedian that could always make a person laugh and a man with a very loving heart that would help anyone in need. He was a true and loyal father, son, brother, friend, and “Uncle.”
Ken had a love of nature and the mountains. He traveled to the Black Hills and Wyoming every year. He was always up for a good road trip, but Interior was “Home.”
Ken will be forever and lovingly remembered by his son, Drew S Sheaffer of Arkansas; granddaughters, Karliegh and Olivia; his mother, Karen Myers of Rapid City, SD; father, Kenneth and stepmother Vonnie Sheaffer of Carlisle, PA; stepfather, Roger Myers of Hermosa, SD; sister, Kaci Harvey and husband Matt of Interior; stepbrothers, Scot Murray of Idaho and Travis Myers of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Darwin Bowers of Pennsylvania; nieces, Brandy (Jed) Kammerer of Wall and Logan (Brandon) Bowers of Chadron, NE; great nephews Tristan and Bennett Kammerer and numerous cousins.
Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Lindsay Olivia and his loving grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, at the Community Center in Interior. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
Live streaming will be provided, and the service can be viewed from Ken’s obituary page on the Rush Funeral Home website.
Private family interment will follow at the Interior-Fairview Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Home of Philip.
