George A. Baumann

December 14, 1957 - June 2015

    George Alex Baumann was born in Rapid City, S.D., December 14, 1957.
    George lived in Rapid City, until age five. He then moved with his family to Salt Lake City, Utah. At age 10, his parents divorced and his mother and three siblings moved back to South Dakota. After attending a year of school in Kadoka, his mother married Jerry Willuweit in 1971 and moved the family to a ranch outside of Creighton.
    George attended Big White country school taught by Jerry’s mother, Nell Willuweit, and then attended school in Wall. He worked on his step-father’s ranch and rodeoed with friends.
    Before his senior year, he returned to Salt Lake City, to be near his dad who owned Baumann Construction.
    George was 56 at the time of his death.
    He is survived by his sons, Luke and James; daughter, Ely; along with his grandchildren, Ava, Jade and Ry-Jin; his siblings, Cindy (Verlyn) Bourne, Dot Keller and Dale (Penny) Baumann; including a large family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma L. Madill; father, George E. Baumann; baby brother, Richard John; step-brother, Greg Baumann; and step-father, Jerry Willuweit.

    Memorial service will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., Little Church of Whispering Pines, Pine Lawn Memorial Park, 4301 Tower Road, Rapid City.
