Gary Larson

Gary Larson, age 80, of Bison, SD, passed away on Sunday morning, November 14, 2021 at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND. 

Graveside services for Gary were held at 1:00 p.m. MT on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Bison Cemetery north of Bison, SD, with Rev. Florence Hoff officiating. 

Gary Rudolph Larson was born on October 22, 1941, in Bison, SD, to Rudolph and Hannah (Haakenson) Larson. He attended all 12 years of school at Bison and graduated in 1959. Following his graduation he attended college in Brookings, SD, for a short time before returning to farm and ranch with his folks. 

He served on various boards, American Lutheran Church, Bison Cemetery Board, Lone Tree Township, Perkins County Fair Board where he served for many years as President, and also served as a Perkins County Commissioner for several years. 

He had resided at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND, for the last several years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Dean Englehart; one nephew, Kelvin Englehart; and numerous cousins. 

Gary is survived by one nephew Neal Englehart and numerous cousins.
