Gail L. Kribell

Gail Lorraine Kribell, age 67, Rapid City, S.D., died Feb. 1, 2017, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

 

Gail was born May 14, 1949, to Lorraine (Meyer) and William Peterson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, joining her brother Jim and her sister Diane. In 1954, the family moved to Reseda, Calif., before finally settling in Simi Valley, Calif., in 1955. She graduated from Simi Valley High School in 1967.

 

On June 14, 1969, Gail married the love of her life William Kribell in Simi Valley. They were married 47 years at the time of her death. To this union their daughter, Christine Alyse, was born.

 

In the 1980s, she returned to school and received her education in medical assisting from Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo, Calif. She spent much of her life working in the medical field.

 

Gail is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bill, of Rapid City; her daughter, Chris Coyle and her husband, Rocky, of Philip, their children, William of Madison, and Molly and Karlie of Philip; her brother, Jim Peterson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her sister, Diane Hansen and her husband, Richard, of Simi Valley; her brothers-in-law, David (Jan) Kribell of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Doug Kribell of Sturgis; her sisters-in-law, JoAnne Stackhouse and Kathy Stewart, both of Lead; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lorraine; her sister, Christine in infancy; and her beloved in-laws, Joe and Mildred Kribell.

 

At her request, she was cremated and her remains will be placed at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis in a private family ceremony. 

 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

 

The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gail’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
