Frances “Frankie” Louise Almen

Frances Louise Almen, 91, Sturgis, formerly of Bison, died Friday, June 17, 2016, at Sturgis Regional Hospital Hospice.
A graveside service was held at  10:00 am, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Rev. David Baer officiating.
Frances was born September 20, 1924, at Baker MT, to Francis "Frank" and Helen (Hanson) Poseley. She was raised in Bison and graduated from Bison High School.
On May 4, 1946 she married Wayne Almen at Baker, Montana. The couple moved to Wayne's grandparents farm they worked for several years.
In 1960, Frances worked as a clerk at the Perkins County Courthouse. She worked for the Treasurer's office, the Auditor and spent time as the Assessor.
She began working for the Bison Branch of the Bank of Lemmon  in 1962 and retired in 1986.
Frances enjoyed camping and boating at the local lakes with her husband.
Wayne died in 1993 and Frances moved to Sturgis in 2005.
Survivors include her daughters; Peggy Smith, Piedmont, Janet Almen, Boulder Canyon; one brother, Jerry (Pat) Poseley, Bison; sister, Pat Hamilton, Spearfish; daughter in law, Deb Almen, Rozet, WY; 8 granddaughters, and one special granddaughter, Tonya Smith, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, one son Chip Almen, parents, Frank and Helen Poseley, two brothers, Bill and Ronald Poseley, one sister Jessie Kolb, and one brother-in-law Herb Kolb.
