David Dorman Jordan

David Dorman Jordan, 89, moved on from this world on July 3, 2021, at Sharmar Village in Pueblo, Colo. His firm belief in God supported him through many struggles over the last year and gave him peace. 

David is survived by his two loving daughters, LaCinda (Ken) Elgan, of Dyer, Nev. and Karla (Dave) Blain, of Pueblo, Colo.;  five grandchildren, Nathan (Sara) Clark, Santa Clarita, Calif., Stephanie (Chris) Hocott, Slidell, La, Jordan Contreras, Pueblo, Colo., Tyler (Jenna) Blain, Pueblo, Colo. and Sarah (Casey) Fassiotto, Pueblo, Colo.; 13 great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Delonna (Tim) Ault, Alexis Gardner, Shelby Roe and Guy (Debbie) Gardner; one sister, Ruby Hanna, of Littleton, Colo.; one brother, Irving (Luanne) Jordan, Faith, S.D.; sister-in-law, Irene Jordan, Faith, S.D.; and brother-in-law, Everett  Turvey, Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Barbara A. Jordan; his second wife of 17 years, Donna L. Jordan; his parents, John and Isabelle Jordan;  brothers and sisters, William Jordan, Adam Jordan, Francis Jordan, Herman (Altha) Jordan, Helen (Frank) Reisbeck, Walter (Eunice) (Arlene) Jordan, Doris (Bob) Newsome, John (Ann) Jordan, Elsie (Arnold) Barnett, Isabelle (Louis) Kessler and Earl Jordan; brother-in-law, David Hanna; sister-in-law, Charlene Turvey; six nephews; and one niece.  

David was born on February 20, 1932 in Faith, S.D.  He was blessed to be from a large family and was the twelfth of fourteen children. He graduated high school in Faith, attended trade school, and worked on the family ranch until meeting and marrying his wife of 42 years, Barbara Turvey. During that marriage he worked mostly in the retail and small machine repair business until he was able to become his own boss and owner of Jordan Sewing Center, in Greeley, Colo., for 20 years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, playing cards, traveling, had a good sense of humor, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley. He married Donna L. Gardner, in 2002 and moved to assisted living in Pueblo, Colo. in 2016.  

Services were held Monday and Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Pueblo, Colo. Graveside burial was held Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley, Colo.
