Daniel Bierwagen

Bierwagen, Daniel B. “Dan” asleep in Jesus on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at age 89.  Daniel was born to Michael E. Bierwagen and Alma Brost Bierwagen. Beloved husband of Sherry A. Bierwagen (nee Steinmetz) for 59 years. Beloved father of Beth (Mike) Rusert, Lisa (the late John) Kirchman and Joel (Donna) Bierwagen Bierbach.  Loving grandfather of Gregory and Laura Rusert, Kim (Travis) Fox, Karen Kirchman, Sean Kirchman and Isabelle Bierbach.  Dear great-grandfather of Marinn Fox, Lucy Fox and Timothy “Tike” Fox.  Dear brother of the late Elmer (Diane surviving) Bierwagen. Dear brother-in-law of Janice (the late Richard) Hass and Carol (the late Fred) Hogue.
Dan was an active member of the Peace Lutheran Church and choir for many years and recently a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He graduated from Central High School, Rapid City, SD in 1949. Dan was raised on a cattle ranch in western SD and operated the ranch until 1969.  He graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a BS Degree in chemistry in 1973.
Dan served on the board of trustees for the Trenchard Scholarship Fund, a fund that is available to graduating students in Haakon County (Philip, SD).

Services:  Visitation Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 12345 Manchester Rd. (63131) followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am Wednesday. Interment St. Trinity Cemetery.
