Dale A. Jensen

Dale Alfred Jensen, age 85, San Antonio, Texas, passed away after a long illness on Friday evening, September 1, 2017 at Kindred Hospice in San Antonio. 
 
Dale was born on November 24, 1931 in Rushville, Neb., to Alfred and Rosa Jensen. He graduated from Assumption Academy in 1949 in Chadron, Neb. After graduation, he served briefly in the Army. He married Dorothy Eisenbraun on December 2, 1961, in Rapid City, South Dakota.
 
Dale worked for Summit Construction Company and Summit Signs and Supply in Rapid City. In 1983, he moved to San Antonio after 25 years with Summit. Dale worked for Ron Kenning Construction until his retirement in 1989. In his younger years, Dale enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating. In his later years, Dale enjoyed joke-telling and recipe collecting, completing plastic canvas projects, TV cooking shows, gardening, internet surfing and music collecting. 
 
Dale is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 55 years; one daughter, Bonnie Jensen-DuBois; her husband, David DuBois; one grandson, Jeremy Oyler and his wife, Whitney (Rathke) Oyler; and one granddaughter, Felicia Oyler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Dale was proceeded in death by his parents, Alfred and Rosa (Shafer) Jensen; his only sister, Mary Cooper and her husband Col. Robert E. Cooper, Retired. 
 
A Memorial Services for Dale will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas 78148.
 
Burial will be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.
