Clint Amiotte

Clint Amiotte, age 54, of Interior, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his home in Interior.
Clint Jay Amiotte was born January 20, 1967 in Kadoka, South Dakota. He was raised on a ranch south of Interior, South Dakota. He attended grade school in Interior, and his school basketball team won the YMCA Tournament in Rapid City. Clint attended high school in Kadoka and graduated in 1985.
Clint was a prolific roper. He won the ribbon roping in the NLBR in North Platte, Nebraska. Clint qualified for the National High School Finals three times. His partner, Wayne Barber, and him took home the team roping state title in 1984. After high school he continued his rodeo career and participated in various SDRA, NCRA, Indian Rodeos, and jackpot events.
Caring for animals was another passion of his. You were never quite sure what kind of animal you would find when walking into this house. Longhorns, buffalo, horses, raccoons, pigs, kittens, puppies, and bargain bin cattle were just a fraction of what he tended to throughout his years. If something was dragging a leg, he always figured Bill Headlee could fix it. He had an eye for a good-looking horse.
Survivors include his mother, Asta Amiotte; sister Dondee Amiotte; two brothers Tucker (Corrin) Amiotte and Kyle Amiotte; many nieces and nephews; and an abundance of very dear friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his father Alan Amiotte.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Interior Community Center.
Following a lunch a graveside service will be held at the Amiotte Family Ranch Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Home of Philip.
