Bottjen receives EMT of Year award

Paramedics are among the people who provide life-saving services for people in emergency situations.  

 

Terry Bottjen, 2017 National NAEMT/Nasco Paramedic of the Year, was presented with his award October 17th in Las Vegas, NV at the NAEMT National Convention, and again on October 18th at the EMS 2017 World Expo with 53 countries in attendance from around the world.   Bottjen also had the opportunity to meet Randolph Mantooth, TV's Emergency One's  Johnny Gage, one of two people who inspired him to become a paramedic.  Mr. Mantooth has continued to support first responders all these years and Bottjen was thrilled to meet him.  

 

Currently working for IHS Eagle Butte, he has been involved with EMS for 37 years.  Bottjen was the elected South Dakota National EMT Representative and South Dakota State EMS Training Officer for three years, and was later appointed the South Dakota EMS Chaplain for several years. Bitten is also a pastor who believes that paramedics and EMTs are the hands and the voice of God every time they reach out to help the hurting, and his philosophy is reflected in the kind of service he provides the community and the way he provides that service.
