Beverly D. Beckerwas born in Lemmon SD, on August 5, 1935, the daughter of John and Ruby (Holdahl) Becker.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lemmon.  Bev grew up on the Becker homestead in Adams County and attended the Paranto School and graduated from Lemmon High School with the Class of 1953.  After graduation she worked at the Ben Franklin store in Lemmon.  While living in Lemmon, she met her lifelong companion, Fred.   Bev and Fred were united in marriage on May 23, 1954 at St. Luke’s Church.

Fred and Bev began their life together on the Schopp Ranch near Athboy.  She helped with the farm and ranch work.  Together, they raised their six children, Laurie, Connie, Sherry, Janice, Raymond, and Kayleen.

Bev enjoyed many hobbies including baking, needlepoint, canvas stitching, playing cards and the game of Scrabble.  She was an avid Lemmon Cowboy/Cowgirl fan and rarely missed any of her grandchildren’s sporting and music events. The grandkids were always excited to eat Grandma’s homemade buns.   Bev had a great impact in the lives of those that knew and loved her and she will be greatly missed.  Above all else, Bev’s greatest passion in her life was her family.  Whether lending her hand, lending her ear, or lending her heart, Bev always went above and beyond as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Where ever she went, Bev made sure to bring her kind smile, her zest for life, her encouraging words, her helping hands, and her purse full of lemon drops. She was considered the truest friend to every person she knew.

Bev was a member of the Lazy Daisies Homemakers Club, and St. Luke’s Ladies Aid.  Bev and Fred were the 2010 Boss Cowman Honorees, and were Lemmon Sports Booster Fans of the year in 2008.

Bev was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She was a devout Christian and her strong faith carried her through trials and tribulations, and she was a pillar of Christian strength for her family.
Bev went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND, following a short illness.

Bev is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Fred; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Dan Hoff, Connie and Bob Hourigan, all of Lemmon, SD; Janice Schopp (Tim Moore) Belle Fourche, SD; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Julie Schopp, Meadow, SD; Son-In-Law Mike Ginther Lemmon, SD, 13 grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Rutz, Dusty (Jenny) Hourigan, Bobi Jo (Jeremy) Wuebben, Lance (Jaylea) Hourigan, JaCoebi (Merrissa) Moore, Weston (Katelin) Ginther, Andrew Sackmann, Jessie (Tanner) Boeddeker, Danci Hoff, Katie, Kelly, Krista, and Justin Schopp;  12 great grandchildren; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Rita Becker, Hettinger, ND, 1 sister and brother-in-law, Arlys and Del Krause, Bismarck, ND and 1 sister-in-law,  Lyla Becker, Wenatchee, WA.
